“Here’s what I know: the enemy’s job is to pull you away from your calling and purpose.I got tired of worshipping the negative thoughts, the distractions, and people that weren’t serving me. But this is what we need to remember- Our God created the world, brought dead things back to life, and overcame death for our sake. There is nothing impossible for our God!” — Amanda
Hey Sister! Today we’re getting right into it because let me tell you—God is working!
Over the past few months, my prayers have sounded like:
“Lord, let Your will be done.”
“I don’t want to do anything that isn’t aligned with You.”
“Holy Spirit, show me the way.”
And He answered. But if I'm being honest… the answer has been uncomfortable. I was so used to living life on my own terms. I did what I wanted with my money, in relationships, and if someone hurt me, I’d cut them off without hesitation. I acted like I had all the answers.
One night at Bible study, we read a verse about God’s Word being useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy NIV). I realized I didn’t fully understand what that looked like in a practical way. So I asked Jesus to show me—really show me—how to live guided by His Word, not just quote it, The truth is I was exhausted trying to live life in my own strength. God’s word says:
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest... For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” ( Matthew 11:28-30 NLT) His Word is alive and good. My life felt heavy because my yoke wasn’t His. All God wanted was for me to come to Him and let Him lead. Yes, prayer brings direction, but we still have work to do—obedience on our part matters.
One thing that amazed me while reading Numbers was how God guided Moses. Moses led over 600,000 people, and God gave him detailed, specific instructions—and Moses obeyed.
“From the whole community of Israel, record the names of the warriors…” (Numbers 1:1–4)
“…The people were registered… just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Numbers 1:17–19)
“Do not count the tribe of Levi… put them in charge of the Tabernacle…” (Numbers 1:48–54)
Moses listened step by step. He didn’t improvise or go based on feelings—he followed God’s instruction exactly. That level of discipline, obedience, and submission didn’t just impact him—it blessed an entire nation.
Reflection Questions
Let’s pause and reflect:
Am I committed to God’s plan even when it doesn’t match mine?
What would life look like if I did things God’s way instead of my own?
Can I truly submit to the Lord?
How will I give thanks even when things don’t look the way I expected?
These questions aren’t meant to bring guilt—they’re meant to bring truth and protect us from harm.
As I read Numbers, I noticed Moses continuously met God in the wilderness—because he knew God would be there. He kept returning. He kept listening. He kept obeying.
My prayer is that we become those people too:
People who seek God for direction.
People who obey even when it’s uncomfortable.
People who choose His Word over our own impulses.
God’s Word is true. He is waiting for us to come to Him.Don’t let disobedience keep you from what He has for your life.
His Way or My Way?

Welcome back to another weekly blog! Over the week i’ve been meditating on God’s word and purpose for my life. The new year is coming up and it made me think about the goals that I have for myself and I really wanted to be intentional about asking God, what steps He wants me to take.
The biggest goal for me this year is to get us to become better version of ourselves. What do I mean when I say the “ better version “? , I mean the version that God intended us to be and not what society says. I want us to ask “ Holy Spirt, where are you leading me to ?’’ and am” I willing to obey? “. There is a path that God intends for us to go, so let’s do the work. There is a place designed for us and sometimes life distracts us from our purpose, but God is waiting for our return. Honestly, I didn’t really consider God in the past when I was trying to create a blueprint for my life. Everything was led by my feelings and success was measured by what I accomplished, and it didn’t have anything to do with God and His purpose for my life. But I am thankful for God’s unconditional love and conviction.
Jeremiah 29:11 says “ For I know the plans I have for you”, says the Lord. “ They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Girl, God got you! and He has a plan for you and I. When we understand the context behind the verse it just hits my spirit different. God was speaking to the people of Israel who were exiled in Babylon. Prior to exile, they were disobedient; idolizing other Gods, and not keeping up with the promises that God established with them but He still showed them love and mercy and promised them victory.
His plan was not to leave them but to restore their families and generations to come. Regardless of our mistakes God still wants us and has a direction for our life, but we have to come back to Him, and don’t let anyone tell you other wise.
Girl, you are loved by God and He has a future that is bright, filled with joy and freedom. As you are seeking God, come to Him and lay down your worries ask God to reveal the steps He desires for your life and He will make your paths straight ( Proverbs 3:6) .
The Journey Isn’t Over

Hey Girl, My name is Amanda . I created this blog as a way to express my journey with God and to hopefully help someone along the way. It’s crazy because God had been putting it on my heart for a while to start a blog, but I kept ignoring the calling. Nevertheless, here we are at “ Girl, God Got You” . My goal is to share experiences about my walk with the Lord but most importantly, to ignite the things that God is calling you to do in life.
If I am being honest, there are moments in my life that will have me questioning my capabilities and doubting the person that God intended for me to become. What I didn’t realize is God wants me to bring everything to him, not just the cute stuff, but my insecurities, fears, and doubts. When I finally did that, He showed me His love and comfort.
The bible says “ I love you Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock , in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me and my place of safety. I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and He saved me from my enemies.“(Psalm 18: 1-3 NLT) .
We have to understand that God is our safe place- the One who protects us from attacks like negative thinking, people who cause harm, worries, and anxiety. God’s presence protect us.
God helped me realize that he wanted not only to help me, but lead me. This life wasn’t meant for us to walk alone. Girl, know that God sees you, and He cares about everything that you care about. But we have to be honest with how we are feeling. It’s okay to tell God our truth- but let’s allow His truth to be what we follow and not our flesh.
A practice that I have been learning lately is being intentional about my thoughts- taking every negative thought capitative and replacing God’s word with the lies I tell myself . It’s been a process, but my mind has been renewed through this practice.
Here’s what I know: the enemy’s job is to pull you away from your calling and purpose.I got tired of worshipping the negative thoughts, the distractions, and people that weren’t serving me. But this is what we need to remember- Our God created the world, brought dead things back to life, and overcame death for our sake. There is nothing impossible for our God!
So, let’s stop allowing the doubt and the negative thoughts to pull us away from God’s calling. Moving forward, we’re going to put the full armor of God ( Ephesians 6:10-17) and remember- Girl, God’s got you - even in the battle.
